Credit/Collections Manager – O.K. Tire Corporate Office (South Surrey, BC)

The Credit Collections Manager is responsible for managing accounts receivable, ensuring we effectively deliver on our credit risk performance to optimize cash collection and minimize bad debt. This person will have a passion for delivering best-in-class customer service, change management and partnership skills. You will be working with both small and large businesses and will need to be flexible with your business approach.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the timeliness of collections, application, and processing of deductions and credits
  • Establish customer payment arrangements and reconcile accounts.
  • Analyze and adjudicate credit applications according to Corporate credit policies and manage the credit of existing customers.
  • Prepare detailed analysis of customer aging at month-end and provide commentary to management.
  • Liaise across departments including Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams.
  • Assist with financial analysis and other reporting requirements as needed and support management in various related ad hoc requests/projects.
  • Participate in various finance initiatives to streamline and improve current processes.

Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ credit experience as a Credit Analyst or similar role.
  • CCP designation or post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written; persuasive, confident, with the ability to articulate appropriate messages to various audiences clearly and concisely.
  • Exceptional relationship billing skills.
  • Team player who excels at collaborating with other staff/departments to problem solve and correct issues as they arise.
  • Resiliency and persistence to resolve outstanding AR between external and internal stakeholders while maintaining the customer relationship.
  • Knowledge of credit laws and regulations.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong computer skills required specifically MS Office-Excel
  • Experience analyzing financial information, tracking, and reporting on key metrics.
  • Results focused. Proven ability to improve status quo.
  • Quick thinking, resourceful, ability to balance multiple deadlines/priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
