Parts Technician – as part of the service department staff this position is responsible for ensuring that all parts are obtained for customer work orders and manage all inventory levels and returns.  Detailed as:


1) Customer Service

Main Activities:

  • Communicate in a professional manner with suppliers and customers requiring parts.
  • Work with the service manager and tire shop supervisor to ensure all parts needed are obtained.

2) Work Order Management

Main Activities:

  • Ensure that all parts are received on work orders in a timely manner.
  • Update work orders consistently and ensure detailed notes are entered onto open work orders.
  • Provide detailed and accurate estimates for customers
  • Obtain purchase orders and authorization names from customers to close invoices.

3) Parts

Main Activities:

  • Order all parts required for customer work orders
  • Receive all parts for customer work orders, inventory and expenses.
  • Maintain parts room inventory levels for common products used.
  • Manage return of all unneeded product and follow up on credits from suppliers.
  • Ensure we are getting the best pricing available for the quality of product.

6)  Perform other related duties as required


  • 1 – 3 years previous experience in the automotive industry specifically relating to parts and inventory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate confidently
  • Highly organized, attentive to details and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, ever changing high-volume environment
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving items up to 50lbs+
  • Current, valid drivers license
