In October 2013 Lee Pratt and his son Jay Pratt bought the OK Tire Franchise in Cranbrook from Joe Fritz. Both have been very active for years, mostly in sports, and well-recognized in the community.Lee was a retired investment advisor but had 25 years previously in the Automotive, Industrial Sector from 1967 to 1993. His business experience would be a great asset to Jay and the business.Jay started at age 15 working part time for Kal Tire and went on to spend the next 22 years in the industry. He worked for Kal Tire, OK Tire, Big O Tire, Tirecraft and lastly as a manager for Integra Tire.Lee and Jay felt very confident in their business expertise and knew if they made customer experience their number one priority they would be successful. They started with 3 employees and have now expanded with 12 staff members. There are three sales representatives, 2 Journeyman technicians, a 3rd year apprentice and 6 tire technicians. Jay’s mother Loopy and his wife Gayle also help out in the family business looking after the bookkeeping and various other administrative duties. They treat their employees like family with respect and appreciation as well as a generous bonus program. This results in good employees, low turnover and great customer satisfaction. Their business has grown exponentially and mostly by customer retention and referrals from those same satisfied customers.They also service 12 fleets with 6 to 30 vehicles each and look after all their tire and maintenance needs.Jay looks after the business and Lee is presently the Mayor of Cranbrook (keeps him out of Jay’s way) and both are still very involved in the Community.
